Use gestures on your Pixel Tablet

You can interact with your tablet using gestures. You can customize some gestures or turn them on or off.

Change how you navigate your Pixel Tablet's screen

You can choose how you navigate your Pixel Tablet's screen:

1. Open your device's Settings app .
2. Tap System Gestures System navigation.
3. Choose an option for how you want to navigate the taskbar.
   • Gesture navigation: Use swipe gestures on your screen to access the taskbar, switch apps, or move forward and back.
   • 3-button navigation: Add a taskbar at the bottom of your screen and tap buttons to go back, return to your Home screen, or switch apps.

Adjust gesture navigation sensitivity

To customize the gesture you select, next to each option, tap Settings .

• Swipe to invoke assistant: Turn on Google Assistant whenever you swipe up from the bottom corner of your screen.
• Back sensitivity: Adjust gesture sensitivity on the left and right edges of your screen.

3-button navigation

Choose whether or not you can tap Home at the bottom of your screen to speak to Google Assistant.

Customize camera, button, and lock screen gestures

You can customize other gestures to change how you access features on your tablet:

1. Open your device's Settings app .
2. Tap System Gestures.
3. Tap the gesture you want to toggle or change:
   • Quickly open camera: Press the power button twice to open the camera.
   • Tap to check tablet: Tap your lock screen to check time, notifications, and other information.
   • Lift to check tablet: Pick up your tablet to check time, notifications, and other information.
   • Press & hold power button: Change whether you press and hold the power button to access the power menu or Assistant.

Other common Pixel Tablet gestures

Go to Quick Settings

Swipe down on your Home screen to check your notifications, change your screen brightness, or access Quick Settings.

Manage and open your installed apps

To check the apps that are installed on your tablet, swipe up from your home screen. Touch and drag an icon to move it to your Home screen.

Tip: If there's a managed account set up on your tablet, your personal apps will show up by default. To check your work apps, tap Work.

Get personalized news and recommendations

To get news and recommendations from Google when you swipe right on your Home screen:

1. Open your device's Settings app .
2. Tap Hub Mode At a glance turn on Swipe to access Google app.
